Create

I know - it has been a while - but the vertigo is getting much better while I am awake and not in bed (at least to the point I am not hugging the toilet and running into walls) - so I am working on some projects.  The first are some pings and pendant charms that I think I will put on Etsy.  The small bottlecap ones are pins - some Christmas, Halloween and Breast Cancer Awareness.  the pendant charms are obviously Breast Cancer Awareness. 

                      

And the second batch are for a trade and a swap - the dress form is a trade (I got the cutest cardinal on a swing charm) - and most of the other ones are for the second batch of the Christmas charm swap (Jayne see only one has freaky faces!).  Trying to get these ready to mail out tomorrow. 

                 

I also picked up some great fabric and trims today to work on some more aprons - I am getting quite a collection - now to figure out what to do with them all :)

Well - I've gone and joined a couple of more charm swaps - so 1st ones are Christmas images that I used beer bottle caps (used but cleaned) - I used my boss kut to flatten them - then used padded pliers to make the sides totally flat - then I made the little dangles of gems - and put them through the cap with a jump ring - I also copied the back of the cap - I thought this would look cute for a Christmas/Winter theme since they had polar bears on them.  Then rather than do scrabble tiles again - I took balsa wood and cut them in 1 x 1 squares, - sprayed them with silver paint, then added clip art, glazed, then also made jewel dangles and attached with a jump ring.  Lastly - I had some orange and black bottle caps that I flattened, sprayed the flattened (non-colored) side with black - used clip art and made some jewel bangle and attached with jump rings - now - for these two samples - rather than making them charms - I made them into pins.  I kinda like them as pins.

   I am going to put some on my etsy shop too- and see what happens .  Now to finish up some aprons.

           

TTFD Open House

This past Saturday was Open House for the fire station my husband has worked at for over 30 years.  He has been putting this together for many years and it just gets bigger and bigger.  Next year will be his last year coordinating this - then retirement.  Here is a collage I put together for him to send out to the businesses that helped sponsor this event.

I know it has been a while and I really thought I would get a lot of stuff done while I have been off recuperating - but - that has not happened.  I am going back to work next week - and have lots I want to do before then - better get cracking!  I am doing much better - love that I can shower now and actually got in the pool for about an hour yesterday.  Still have stitches - but that is OK - and for some reason I have developed vertigo - which sucks!  anyhow - I am sure you are not interested in that - I finished this cute little half apron - Elle and I found the material and thought it would be a nice non-useful apron - it has 2 layers - top layer is the felt cats and such and the bottom layer is black with orange glitter on it  - It looked too plain initially so yesterday I added the black lace and even though you can't see it - there is a black sheer ruffle on the bottom layer too.  I am almost finished with another apron - debating on using fabric for the tie or a silk ribbon - that is all that is all that is left to do on it and I have started on another apron made out of a jean overall.  Hope it will not be weeks before I post again.
